Reading passage

From Bean to Bar

Hello! I am a food enthusiast. Today, I am talking about chocolate. Chocolate is loved by many people around the world. But how is it made?

First, cocoa beans are grown on trees in hot countries like Ghana and Ivory Coast. The beans are harvested by farmers. After harvesting, the beans are fermented for several days. This process is done to develop their flavor.

Next, the fermented beans are dried in the sun. Then, they are shipped to chocolate factories in different countries. In the factory, the beans are roasted at high temperatures. After roasting, the shells are removed, and the cocoa nibs are left.

The cocoa nibs are ground into a thick paste called cocoa liquor. Sugar and milk are added to the cocoa liquor. This mixture is refined and then conched (mixed for a long time) to make it smooth. Finally, the liquid chocolate is poured into molds. It is cooled, and then the chocolate bars are wrapped.

So, the delicious chocolate bar you are eating is made through a long and careful process. It is a true art!
