Lesson 41: Planning an Event

What does "Annual" mean?
Planning an Event
Sarah: Hi Mark, thanks for meeting me. We are planning the annual company picnic, and I need your help.
Mark: Of course, Sarah. What are we thinking for this year? I will help with anything you need.
Sarah: Great! First, we are going to choose a date. I am thinking of late July. What do you think?
Mark: Late July will be perfect. Most people will be back from their holidays by then. So, what are we going to do about the venue?
Sarah: I have already booked the Central Park Pavilion. It is available on July 28th. I am meeting with the catering company next Tuesday to discuss the menu. I will send you the details after that.
Mark: Excellent! I will start putting together a list of activities. We could have some team games. I am going to ask John from HR if he can organize a volleyball tournament.
Sarah: That sounds fun! And what about entertainment? I will look into hiring a DJ. Do you think people will enjoy live music?
Mark: I think they will. Live music is always a good idea. I will also check with the marketing team to see if they can design some invitations. We are going to need to send those out by early July.
Sarah: Perfect. So, to summarize: I am choosing the menu next week, and you are organizing the activities. We will meet again in two weeks to finalize everything. Does that work for you?
Mark: Yes, that works for me. I will get started on the activities list right away. This picnic is going to be the best one yet!
