The verb 'to be' is fundamental in English. We use it to describe states, identities, and locations. It changes form depending on the subject:

  • I am
  • You / We / They are
  • He / She / It is

Examples: I am Maria. Our club is the perfect place. We are a friendly group. They are very enthusiastic.
