Grammar Focus: Future Forms: Will, Going to, Present Continuous
English has several ways to talk about the future.
- Will — general predictions/opinions, spontaneous decisions, promises/offers: I think they will enjoy live music. I will help you.
- Be going to — plans/intentions decided before now, and predictions based on present evidence: I am going to ask John from HR. This picnic is going to be the best yet!
- Present Continuous — fixed arrangements, often with a time expression: I am meeting the catering company next Tuesday.
